Over 80 people attended MHLC's Annual Awards Dinner at the Stockade Inn in Schenectady, NY on May 14, 2008. Mike Sterthous received the "Open Space Preservation" Award and Mark King received the Conservancy's "Saving Special Places" Award. Jerry Cosgrove, Deputy Commissioner of New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, discussed the challenges and opportunities of farmland protection in New York State. Before the dinner, many people enjoyed a very informative walk through the Stockade area led by Schenectady County historian, Don Rittner.
