Join MHLC and our hosts Tom Pfeiffer and Judy Stacey for a guided walk at the Bender Melon Farm Preserve.
Each attendee will receive an insulated wine tumbler imprinted with MHLC's logo for their journey.
Capital Wine & Spirits of Albany will provide a tasting of their favorite wines this season (non-alcoholic seltzer options available, as well). Once our cups are full, we'll hit the trails with Tom and Judy for a closer look at some of the wonderful flora and fall foliage at the preserve this time of year!
Registration is required for this event. Attendees must be 21 and over.
Tom Pfeiffer is the former City of Albany Forester. Having studied forestry at Paul Smith’s College he worked for the city for 31 years. Since retiring, Tom serves as a board member and volunteer for the Washington Park Conservancy leading the tree planting effort each year. He also coordinates the yearly Arbor Day planting in the park and other parts of the city. Tom is a proud member of the American Conifer Society!
Judy Stacey is the former City Gardener for the City of Albany. During her 13-year tenure she oversaw planting the tulip bulbs across the city and subsequently planting the annuals after the tulips bloomed. After retiring from the city, Judy earned her master gardener certificate from Cornell Cooperative Extension and now works for Albany International Airport creating and tending garden beds leading to the airport.
