We are happy to introduce MHLC’s newest trail improvement, a 45-foot pedestrian bridge located in the Upper Bozen Kill Preserve, allowing visitors to cross a flashy tributary stream which been known to fluctuate between a dry stream bed and a 30-ft flow depending on the season.
We are beyond grateful to the 30 volunteers who contributed a whopping 200 person-hours to bring this project to fruition.

This bridge presented a new logistical challenge to the team, who needed to pour concrete abutments and deliver all the construction materials and bridge materials to this remote site, located ¾ of a mile from the nearest roadway, all while minimizing impacts to the preserve. Read more about the process in our next fall/winter issue of Viewpoints!

There are a few stonework improvements around the bridge in progress right now, but visitors are encouraged to visit this beautiful preserve and enjoy the new crossing.
