Stewards Circle Gathering at Indian Ladder Farms

August 1, 2022

The Stewards Circle giving program was created by MHLC to provide our leadership-level donors with enriched opportunities to connect with the land, other like-minded individuals, and MHLC staff throughout the year. With an annual commitment of at least $1,500, donors may join the Stewards Circle and receive exclusive opportunities for guided hikes on MHLC properties, invitations to annual social gatherings, and an exclusive recognition gift from MHLC. The continued generosity of Stewards Circle donors helps us to carry out our mission day-to-day, ensuring that operational funding needed to sustain our organization is met.

In celebration of our 30th anniversary of conservation in the Capital Region, MHLC held a special gathering of Stewards Circle members and MHLC board and staff at Indian Ladder Farms Cidery & Brewery in July 2022. The Indian Ladder Farms property, nestled at the foot of the Helderberg Escarpment, was protected with a conservation easement by MHLC in 2003. Since that time, we’ve continued a longstanding partnership with Indian Ladder Farms and were delighted at their offer to produce a special beer to celebrate our first 30 years of service. The Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy 30th Anniversary Pale Ale was created as an exclusive small batch by head brewer Scott Veltman and his team. The commemorative cans were designed by Carrie Stickan, MHLC’s Communications & Outreach Coordinator.

More than sixty Stewards Circle members gathered at Indian Ladder Farms Cidery & Brewery to enjoy an evening of friendly conversation and share conservation stories. Board Chair Sarah Carroll and Executive Director Mark King highlighted the many exciting initiatives the organization is working on this year. Gathering with a vibrant and dedicated group of supporters on a beautiful summer evening, sipping on ILF beer, and sharing goals for the future left MHLC board and staff energized and excited for our work in the coming years. We are grateful for the ongoing support of our Stewards Circle donors and look forward to upcoming opportunities to gather in-person.

We invite you to join the Stewards Circle with a donation or pledge today.
