MHLC's Canoe Raffle for Capital Region Conservation

We are excited to host our 2026 canoe raffle to support the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy's conservation work in Albany, Schenectady, and Montgomery Counties.

Use the donation form at the bottom of this page to enter for a chance to win a 16' wood canvas tandem canoe donated by former MHLC board member, Dan Lewis.

Every raffle entry supports our work conserving and stewarding the forests, fields, farmlands, and streams of the Capital Region for the benefit of this and future generations.

To enter, you must be 18 or older and a resident of the state of New York. One winner will be randomly selected by MHLC staff and notified after the raffle closes on June 30, 2026.

The canoe was originally purchased by Dan Lewis in 1982 in the Boston area, and lovingly restored by Dan at his home in Delmar years later. The inwales and gunwales, decks, thwarts, and seats have all been replaced. Dan also recanvased, filled and refinished the canoe. The original manufacturer is unknown. Since the restoration, the canoe has been used gently and sparingly, and it remains in very good condition. Two wooden paddles are included.
