Van Dyke Workday

May 17, 2022

We will work on infrastructure safety including bridge replacement and mud mitigation. Low impact work, light lifting, working in wet areas, and use of hand tools. (10 volunteers needed.)

Swift Workday

May 26, 2022

We will work on infrastructure safety including raising bog boards off the ground and lifting and extending the bridge. Low to moderate impact work involved. (12 volunteers needed.)

Schoharie Creek Preserve Follow-up and Stair Repair

May 31, 2022

We'll be installing new bog boards, restructuring the larger staircase down to the creek, touching up and blazing the new trails, and fixing driveway potholes. Work will be light to heavily strenuous depending on the task. (10 volunteers needed.)

Chops and Hops for National Trails Day

June 4, 2022

We have endless project opportunities at Fox preserve to celebrate National Trails Day. Help us remove invasive vines and shrubs and install bog boards. We'll end the day with cold refreshments. (30 volunteers needed.)

Bozen Kill Preserve Workday

June 10, 2022

We will work on waterflow management, red trail maintenance, and lumber removal. Low to moderate impact work involved. (10 volunteers needed.)

Introductory Chainsaw Clinic

June 12, 2022

Join MHLC staff and volunteers to learn the basics of proper and safe chainsaw operation and application! Participants will gain experience with several types of saws and techniques in an inclusive and comfortable environment. No previous experience is required! MHLC will provide saws, safety equipment, and instruction. Participants MUST wear closed-toed shoes, steel toes are best. Participants are also welcome to bring their own gear though MHLC reserves the right to inspect it to ensure safe operation.
